How does the shipping process work?

After making a purchase, we will reach out through email to confirm which day is best for you to receive the tortoise(s). Here at A.T.C. hatchlings and smaller tortoises are shipped through FedEx overnight to your door. Shipping is available Monday’s thru Thursday’s and receiving is Tuesday’s thru Friday’s. The morning of the actual shipping day a tracking number will be provided. Arrival times, day of can fluctuate but most of the time it is a 1030am arrival. No signature is required for receiving. As for large tortoises such as adult Sulcatas, those will be shipped through Southwest Airlines Cargo to your major airport, and we will provide further details to those customers directly after purchase about that process. We offer free shipping storewide, so no other charges will be billed. Here at A.T.C. we do offer live arrival guarantee and a 7-day satisfaction guarantee. This ensures you are completely happy with the purchase and the tortoise(s) are healthy and solid.

As for supply shipping, those products are shipped out through the United States Postal Service and will take a few days to arrive in your mailbox.

Once you receive the tortoise(s)

Once you have received and carefully opened the package containing the tortoise, you will need to “soak” the tortoise. Placing the tortoise in a shallow dish or container of lukewarm water for 10 to 20 minutes will help ensure the animal is hydrated as well as adjusting to the new temperatures. After it has soaked, simply place the tortoise into its new enclosure. Placing it on the warm – basking side of the enclosure will further help ensure the tortoise is able to regulate its body temperature. You will find, once the tortoise is warmed up and settled in, it will start to explore its new surroundings. Keep a small pile of food available for it to graze as it needs.
